There’s no other way to say it: we’re running out of time. Without collaboration between the public, private, and social sectors, the consequences of climate change — rising global temperatures, extreme weather, sea-level rise, and food shortages — will continue to worsen, rendering parts of our planet uninhabitable.
Fortunately, we do have solutions that can make an immediate and lasting impact. Government, business, and NGO partnerships are already leading the way with innovative approaches that address these challenges.
At Pyxera Global, our purpose is to address our world’s most pressing challenges, one community at a time. By bringing together representatives from these key sectors, we facilitate dialogue and drive systemic, equitable change. During the annual UN General Assembly (UNGA) and Climate Week NYC in September, Pyxera Global will host an evening of meaningful dialogue focused on building an aspirational, action-oriented mindset and on committing to implement systemic solutions.
Our four-hour event will feature high-level panels, fireside chats, a keynote talk, and networking with climate resilience leaders.
Panel 1: Climate Resilience & Adaptation: Private Sector Perspectives
As global temperatures rise, conflicts increase, and supply chains are disrupted, the private sector plays a crucial role in navigating these challenges and promoting a regenerative and equitable future. This panel will explore how businesses can contribute beyond financial investments, leveraging human capital and innovation to develop resilient and adaptive solutions.
Corporate Partner Panelists:
- C.D. Glin — President, PepsiCo Foundation & Global Head of Social Impact
- Meaghan Krohn — Climate Strategist, Dell Technologies
- Chavalit Frederick Tsao — Chairman at TPC (Tsao Pao Chee)
- Mona Dajani — Global Co-chair, Energy, Infrastructure, and Hydrogen at Baker Botts
Moderator: Deirdre White — CEO, Pyxera Global
Panel 2: Climate Movement Makers: The Front Lines of Hope & Aspiration
This inspirational panel features four visionaries mobilizing climate action across the African continent, India, The Amazon, and Native Nations. Successfully tackling climate change requires a human transformation, not a technological one, and these leaders are driving local innovations that have global potential.
Climate Movement Maker Panelists:
- Elizabeth Wathuti — Founder & President, Green Generation Initiative
- Atossa Soltani — Director of Global Strategy, Amazon Sacred Headwaters
- Joseph McNeil — CEO, SAGE Development Authority, Standing Rock Reservation
- Reema Nanavaty — Director, SEWA (Self Employed Women’s Association)
Moderator: Abigail Taylor — Special Events at Pyxera Global; Student, Harvard University, and 2024 Power 50 Honoree, Black Professionals in International Affairs (BPIA)
Transformation Spotlight: Scaling Remanufacturing and Regeneration in Alaska
While Alaska is celebrated for its majestic beauty and rugged landscapes, it is also emerging as a hub for decarbonization innovation. With more coastline than the lower 48 states combined, Alaska’s shores and fjords are littered with marine debris. The effects of rising temperatures—melting permafrost, dwindling salmon populations, and the displacement of Alaska Natives—have sparked place-based solutions that transform waste into valuable resources, led by those most impacted. This conversation features Chris Pallister, a global leader in marine debris cleanup, discussing a project that has the potential to not only restore Alaska’s coastlines but also serve as a model for island nations in their fight against climate change.
Spotlight: Rural Innovation & Social Entrepreneurship
This conversation brings together one of the foremost actors in supporting social businesses around the globe with one of the leaders of an inspiring hub for rural innovation in Malawi. For many years, these two women have separately leveraged an array of unusual resources to drive social impact. Hear from Sabrina Yegela and Alexandra van der Ploeg about their work to date and the possibilities for scale through a groundbreaking cross-sector partnership.
